Witch way doe's it go

Looking to install water filter and wanting to know if the water line going from the water pump to the heater core is push or sucking?

I'd have to print this out to tell, since the context is pretty small:

Question: why do you think you need a water filter for the heater?

Water or coolant filters are used on commercial diesels to keep the impurities from accumulating in the block and rad core. They also come with DCA additives to maintain PH balance and prevent corrosion and scale build ups, allows for longer coolant life and other components down line like the heater core. As the little Cummins is rated for a 350k to 500k life before rebuild a water filter with additives could be beneficial for component life to match this milage. PK

Re:Witch way doe's it go

An easy way to tell what hose does what is to turn the heat on and place the fan on high. After it has circulated for a minute check which hose is hot and which hose is warm.

Hot hose goes to the heater core

Warm hose comes from the heater core.

Works like a charm

Good Luck
