Question wiring driving lights?

Any of you guys wired up your driving lights so they come on with the low beams? When I got my truck inspected last week the guy at the garage said for my driving lights to be legal they could only work with the headlights on low beam. I got a relay and started to wire them tonight but I couldn't get to the headlight wire to tap it. So my question is should I just tap into the wire at the headlight switch?
Thanks in advance
Joe
P.S. I finally put in my Edge Comp haven't tapped the wire yet but what a difference.

well get into the panel under the hood behind the drivers battery and pull the fog light relay.make your self a jumper wire to go where numer 3 and 5 (look at the spades on your relay) spade go and keep your relay as a spare. this will make the factory fog lights stay on when you go to high beams. to come on with the low........ hmm you might tie int one of those slots with a jumper from the head light relay? i guess its worth trying

Just hook the trigger of the relay to the low beam side of the headlights and you good.

I discovered something interesting when I took out the battery box to tap the headlight wire. Dodge in their infinite wisdom made the headlights come on and of via the ground circuit. With the headlight switch of all 3 wires to the headlight bulb were hot turn the lights on the center wire goes to ground and the high beam side goes dead. No luck at the switch either couldn't find a wire that was only hot when the low beams were on. Looks like I am gonna go the toggle switch route. PA inspectors be darned I want my driving lights. I may just tap the parking lights. My truck doesn't have the factory driving lights so I can't tap that relay. BTW where is a good place to buy those little 12v relays don't say Radio Shack cause the local one doesn't carry em
