wiper problem timer?

About a year ago my wipers started to act up

I put the on delay and they stop in the middle of the windshield.

I shut them off and they stop wherever they feel like.

The only way to stop them in the down position is to turn them off right before they get to the bottom of the stroke

If you turn them off right after the bottom they stop right at the top or about an inch or two into the back stroke

If you run the washer function and don’t stop the wipers yourself at the bottom after the cycle is finished, they stop right in the middle.

Ideas?

There is a "park" switch in the wiper motor that tells them where to stop. I would look there first.
