Mobil 1 15W-40 Truck & SUV oil is very similar.
Many quality CI-4 5W-XX synthetic products will suffice if you only want it in the winter.
10W-40 is gasser oil
I tried a 10W-30 one winter and it wasn't much different than 15W-40

I personally like rotella. I run 15-40 most of the time since its half the price and not synthetic. However its only good down to 10degrees F befor I have to start plugging it and what not. Rotella also has a 5-40 synthetic that has all the same API certs but is good down to -20degrees F. I got that number directly from rotella. It is however twice as muchmoney. about 15$/gallon here.

A guy that used to live in the area located it at a local petroleum distributor in Grand Forks.
I'll have to contact a buddy of mine in Bismarck for your local source.
I read that Wally World carries the Truck & SUV 5W-40 and possibly the Rotella synthetic. Don't shop there so cannot say.

Rotella is a group III synthetic, Mobil is about $1 qt. more, but a group IV. Mobil is a true synthetic, the Rotella made with some conventional oil components. Without getting technical, the Mobil is far superior for a modest price increase.

I run Delo 15w40 year round but when it gets below 20F plug in an oil pan heater along with the block heater. Been working just fine on both my rigs for over 200k each and ten winters.
Do this mainly because I buy Delo in 55 ga drums and don't want to stock other oils but also because in my area it's very typical for temps to go from minus 20 to over 60 in one day and stay there.
Don't feel that lighter oil would do the job with warmer temps.

Your OWNERS MANUAL will tell you exactly which oil to use depending on usage and temperature. Basicly 15-40 diesel rated but for cold weather cold starts best to use a synthetic.
