Cold Diesel

I am wondering if anyone has a winter front on their auto and a tranny temp gauge? This is my first auto and I have no tranny temp gauge, and have been wondering if the tranny is getting enough cooling with the winter front in place? The winter front I bought only has a few slots in each corner. Is it enough for the tranny? Truck runs at a good temp.

Are you pushing snow or towing heavy loads with the front installed? Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it unless you hear the engine fan kicking on a bunch. It will sound like you might suck in a small child.

I have a winter front on my truck.I am running the BD X-monitor with the tranny temp gauge,no difference in tranny temps on my truck.coobie

I could not even get the truck up to full temp driving around the city today (-20*). Every time I stopped I left it running, and would come back and it was 25* colder after 10 mins or so. Sure didn't want to take one of the sections of the winter front out for tranny cooling.

I've got the combo, I've noticed the trans temp gauge at least moves with it on. But it's nowhere near overheating.
