why no resanator on exaust

why does the 03 not have a resanator (spelling ???) on the exaust in front of the muffler like the 02 did

could this be where the drone and vibration is coming from in the trucks by not having one ???

Re:why no resanator on exaust

The Cali CTD's do have this Resonator on them in order to meet Cali emissions.

Re:why no resanator on exaust

The resanator does nothing for emissions. I'd bet it's a cat.

OK, enough already. You are correct, it is a CAT on the Cali CTD's. However, according to the Tech manual there is a resonator on the CTD, but I haven't seen one. ???

Re:why no resanator on exaust

Maybe that is what you are seeing? A resonator and not a muffler?

According to the Tech Manual, there is a muffler on all of the CTD. ???
