How did you correct the speedometer? Does it correct it to put the speedo drive from my 727 in my Getrag?

I had to use the speedo transmission adapter from my donor truck. Mine was 4wd, not sure if the speedo trans adapter is the same as two wheel.

Ive got the adaptor that was on the transmission, which one are you talking about?

you need a reduction box. dpuckett knows a good place to get one, as the one from the dealer is like $80.

There is a box on my Getrag for the speedo, with a gear in it. I assume this is a reducer box? My question is how to make the speedo right, to use my 727 speed pickup or just this box, maybe regeared if needed.

Just thread your VSS onto the reducer box on the Getrag. Speedo will be off due to the 3.07 gears, though.

My parts manual doesn't list the Getrag/3.07 combo, but a good Dodge parts guy can set you up with what you need. The parts exist because you could special order 3.07's with the Getrag.

Alright, and Dave what do you think about drilling and tapping a hole in the top plate close to the shifter for a fill hole?

I bet I could take it to a speedo shop and have it done right...if I can find one.

I think it's easier to put an elbow in the fill hole...

I don't know if the reducer gear box is the same on two wheel drive. When I swapped the transfer cases I had to use the reduction gear box from my old transfer case behind the 727. Speedo is right on now. Sorry I can't help more I don't know much about the 2wd stuff.

Well my 727 is direct I believe, with no reduction box.
