I got some.....It is starting to get cold around here and i notice some white smoke and like a little sputter in the fueling if the truck is not warmed up completely is this normal? After it is warmed up the sputter goes away and from what i can tell the white smoke too (the exhaust comes out under the truck in front of the rear axle so cant see it that well). Is this fairly normal? I was reading in the FAQ about this and that is what brought it to my attention. I hope it isnt my injectors or anything as such what do you guys think?

Sounds like your timing needs adjusting.

Pretty much a normal occurence in mine as well when it is cold. Soon as it begins to reach operating temp runs like a swiss watch in a bowling alley ;D

how much does it cost to have timing advanced or adjusted rather and where could i go to have this done do they do it at BMD?

Mine will smooth out as soon as oil pressure is up and everything is pumping good( we are talking seconds here watching the gauges come up). The white smoke go's away in a mile or so unless I am hammering it, and I don't when it isn't at operating temp. All this is a non issue if I have had the heater plugged in, and I ususally do at anything near freezing. So we are talking about temps in the 40's to low 50's F that I even notice it.

Yeah. It's a diesel... a mechanically injected one at that... it's gonna smoke on cold days.

Enjoy the ride It is just a tad coldblooded, shouldn't be a problem unless it continues well after it has had time to warm up.

A little bit of smoke is normal for a cold diesel.<br>If you want to cover all your bases, as CMNS_PWR said, check your timing. <br>Aslo, you may want to check all your fuel lines for any cracks/leaks. Especialy the fuel return lines.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br>Rich

If you are gonna be at the dyno thing on the second, I am gonna try my best to be there. I can give them a hand if they need it when they time yours.
