I had a buddy tell me to day when I took off that he saw some gray then white smoke come out the tail pipe.. Any Idea on what this may be I just had to take my truck in for a new second computer would this have anything to do with this? I have not had any mods on the truck for a good 3 months.. Should I take it back to the dealer? My truck is a 5.9 07

white smoke is frequently an injector problem. i had some white smoke on start up, that was caused by 2 bad injectors. if you're still under warranty, i would have the dealer do an injector test.

Mine did it for a week once on just start up, and I read diesels can do this because of cold cylinder temperatures. It might have been the fuel or something ,because it hasn't done it in 3 months.

yesterday step on it and saw light colored smoke (white or grey) not the black that I was expecting to see. kinda wondering what it was.
