Which turbo for my mods?

Ok, Im going to be purchasing a 75hp box, and 60hp injectors. As far as power goes, that's it. The box is adjustable. Im not going to be hauling much, but if I need to then I wanna be setup. Also, this is a ranch truck, has a front bumper, and bale bed, when loaded down I'll have about 2-4k on the bed...whether it's bales or feed in the cake feeder. Im looking for the best turbo as far as towing goes, and mileage. Mainly mileage. I have a stocker off my 06, or a stocker off a friends 04. I'd prefer to use one of those since it's free lol. If not, then I have a 62/13/65ssHTT in my 06 now I can put on it, and was gonna get the 6.7 turbo, manifold and controller from fleece in the 06. But would rather get one of those stockers. Wanted to see what yall thought and which one. thanks! Thats just a list of some mods, I got wheels coming, camo wrap, fuel pump and 2 mic filter, cab lights, new seats, shocks, gauges, southbend, and I think that's it lol. Gotta spend the money before I get married next year

I'd keep the stock HX35 that's already there and after you install the box, install a adjustable boost elbow and set the boost on 37psi.
A 4" exhaust system will let the heat out of the motor and help the power....you're in for a pleasant surprise.
Since you're going with injectors, a pyrometer will let you keep an eye on piston melting exhaust temperatures.

I'd probably keep the stock turbo as well, but 37psi is getting outside the map of the HX-35. I'd first set it to 30-32 psi and then experiment with it a bit to find out what gives you lowest EGT at full throttle. And naturally, gauges are must-haves.

keep the stocker for now keep it set at a lower blowoff. and in future you can look other phat shafts but with just a small box and those sticks i think a 62/ or a 64 may be more of a turd. my HTT turbo I have now really woke up with the smarty. get gauges if you dont. and yes opening up the exhaust let that monster blow. and ps. congrats on future married life. just get her into the diesel stuff now and have her help you change your oil and let her drive once and awhile. next thing you know she will be the one wanting twins. (twin turbo's that is)

Yes, im teachin her how to drive a standard since both my trucks are, she drove my 06, and I told her to stand on it!...she did and smiled soo big lol. She now wants a 3rd gen, 4wd, lifted a little, all blacked out lol....the works lol. Yeah it better be twin turbos, cause 2 kids at once would be a mess! lol

Bahahahaha Dieselwrks you nailed it! X2.

Also, a 35/40 hybrid would be a nice upgrade. For the power AND money.
For sure play with an adjustable boost elbow with your HX35.
But if you find its just not quite doin it, you can get a hybrid kit for your turbo for half the price of a full new one. Just a thought.

Yeah, I'd say with the new injectors it's time for a new turbo.

I'd put the '06 turbo on, should be a HE351. Spools quick, bigger compressor. I know Big Blue24 did a hair under 500 with one. At your power level, should keep everything nice and cool. Since the turbo is free, it'll only cost you the piping to make it mate up to the aftercooler and the exhaust.

I see, I was kinda figuring my HE351 would be a pretty good cheap mod for the 01.
