Which shocks, 2wd

I have an 01 2500 2wd that needs some new shocks. From doing a quick search on here and another forum it seems that everyone likes the bilstein 5100's, but all the comments seem to be from guys that have 4wd trucks. Will these shocks work on a 2wd? Also im open to any other recommendations if there is something better.

thanks

The Bilsteen shocks are really nice but I have a 2WD also and don't do off road or real heavy towing so it's Monroe for me. Half the cost.

I have bilsteins on the rear their great. I put monroe reflex on the front I wanted a little sofer ride on front at the same time they lasted 12k miles. returned them and trying rancho 5000. I wished I had used bilsteins all around now. Live and learn. The shocks came from 2 different places so I am kind of stuck. If the ranchos don't work I will just have to bite the bullit for 2 more bilsteins.

I have Bilstein 5100's on my 06 3500 4wd. and bilstein regular on an Excursion diesel. The regular are yellow the 5100's are silver. I got the best deal at tire rack. Free shipping no tax. about 65.00 each. Yellow are for stock ride. I'm happy with both.

I have bilsteins all the way around. I have no issues with them.
