Which fuse to pull so truck cant start?

I am going to be leaving my truck in a not so good area and will not be able to watch it all the time. Which fuse should I pull so that if someone tries to steal it, it wont start (just one more preventative measure).

I havent looked in our boxes recently. I know that in a GM gsser if you pull the one that says "CRANK" it turns over all day and doesnt start.

Don’t all the new ones have the Sentry key system? I thought that there was no way to override the system.

That's kinda what I was thinking but didn't know if it would be okey to be cranking it over without any fuel being pumped to the cp3.

hmmm... i know that Sheila had a special "hibernate" fuse that would kill all motor function but still give you keyless entry and the like... it kind of stood out with a quick release handle... dont have my truck yet so i cant help about the new fuse box

Ummm...How about all of them?

I'm kidding, but if you got the time you know the truck won't start then!!! Why not just disconnect the starter cable abd take it with you, or just tuck it up out of the way? Then even if someone pulls the entire ignition they still can't crank the engine over.

Better yet, pull the batteries.

alot of work compared to just pulling a relay, but still very effective!!!

Well to me it was the question of..."How much time is my truck worth to me?"

I'll spend 9 hrs putting in a bedliner, but I wouldn't take 15 minutes to pull the starter, or 5 minutes to disconnect it anyways, to keep from some punk driving off with it? I don't think so. Pop off the positive battery cable even, then you don't have to crawl under the truck. With my truck I'd just pull the cable for the Shutoff Solenoid, but you fella's don't have that option... Darn 24 valver's...

I think I'll just pull the starter relay fuse. Not too many thieves carry one of those in their pocket. That way it wont even crank over.

My manuel (under vehicle storage) says to pull the Ignition-Off Draw fuse to keep the batts from draining during storage. Should keep it from starting without being very obvious should a thief look under the hood to see if the batts are connected. Maybe

Not to sound rude or anything, but if a thief wants a specific brand of vehicle, they spend some time learning about them before hand (lurkers in our forums that just NEVER sign up, but are being fed the same plethora of information that we are teaching to each other)...if the vehicle doesn't start and the alarm didn't go off (factory alarms are pretty easy for them to disable I'm assuming since our trucks being stolen more and more around the country) then after reading a post such as this, they trouble shoot the fuse box (perhaps start carrying them in their pockets when they attempt their next theft), search for a tucked away starter cable or simply re-connect the battery...point in case if they HAVE to, thieves will go as far as bringing a darn tow-truck to save themselves the time of even breaking in...

Then you're left relying on the police who, in the area of San Diego, don't care or even WORK at caring unless you have been injured at the scene or are catching them in the middle of committing the crime...

hmm maybe so, better yet take out the good fuse and put in a blown one. That way they'll not notice as easily if they check the fuses to see if any are missing. Im guessing they dont linger long in the vehicle before getting scared and moving on to an easier target.
