Which fuel plate and injectors

I have a 95 3/4 ton, 4x4 Manual extended cab, 170,000 miles. I have a bad injector and was thinking this would be a good time to upgrade. I do very little towing, most of the time driving around empty or hauling firewood. Primarily looking for better acceleration and MPG.

I was considering getting DPP 75 hp or 90's injectors and a fuel plate I have a few questions.

1. Are DDP's worth the money?
2. If I go with the 75 or 90 hp injectors, which fuel plate should I get (#10)?
3. Will I need to upgrade my clutch or any else?

No other mods on the truck.

Thanks

grind your stock plate for 2 reasons: it works great and its free
DDP's are an excellent injector DDP 2'S should treat you well, well worth the money.
a 3k or 4k govenor spring kit would help your acceleration and drivability. (i always reccommend the 4k kit but you can do either)
you may want to upgrade the clutch after any of these modifications or just have a discretionary right foot for the meantime.
a boost and egt gauge should be installed before you modify anything.

For injectors look at New Era or on CompDiesel look up member smokem, both have excellent injectors at half the price as DDP. Couple people on CompD even say better power and less EGT's for the same size injector when comparing Smokem's to DDP's.

You dont really need injectors especially if your trucks stock liek it says your sig. Do you want to haul things and be able to run on the drag strip or do you want just a tow rig. I would get a #8 or # 10 plate, a boost elbow (if its not included with the plate) a 4 or 5 inch exhaust and gauges for boost and egt temp at least. adding bigger injectors on that stock turbo will really make things heat up and unless you plan on swapping it i wouldnt pick em up. A 3gsk will do you just fine you dont really need to reach 4grand unless your really bombing your truck.

0 plate, modify your AFC for full travel, and then get whatever injectors you want. I run F1's, and they are great. I have heard great things about Smokem's injectors too. You will need a clutch in short order if you use your power. Mine started slipping with just a 10 plate.

Your forgetting a major addition, Perhaps the most improtant before modding anything, FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE! Cant run anything if your LP and IP burn up. If your thinking about adding more fuel to the mix, 75 or 90hp sticks would be a good mild mod, But a fuel press gauge is a must. Dieselmanor.com has good deals on three packs of gauges so you can grab egt and boost gauges too. Then add some extra fuel.

I partially agree with DodgenIt. Monitoring fuel press is important, but with the mechanical lift pump on the 12 valve, a simple low pressure LED should be sufficient.

While a FP is handy for diagnosing problems, its not nearly as critical on a 12v as it is on a 24v. One under the hood would be sufficient, just to check periodically.
