wheel question

I have a 2500 QC (in my sig). It is an SL base model with just the cheap stock steel wheels. Two questions:

1) What is the stock size of my wheels? 17x8?

2) Can I just bolt up a set of take-offs from other Ram trucks? Another 17x8 that just looks a little better? Do I have to worry about the strength of the wheels or anything like that? I see a lot of take-offs on ebay and would like to spruce up the look of my truck a bit.

Thanks.

Nick

Any of the wheels from a 2003 or newer Dodge Ram 2500 or 3500 SRW will fit with no problem. I think the stock size is 7" or 7.5" wide. Try to find some with at least the 265s on them......

I already have 315/70 17s on the stock wheels. They seem to fit just fine...no bulging or anything. So anything off of a 2500/3500 should be ok...what about off of a 1500?

1500 wheels won't work because they don't have the 8 lug bolt pattern.

I took the SLT steel wheels and peeled off the chrome cover to reveal the black under them. There's one picture in my gallery and I think it gives the truck a kind of mean / cop car look.

njmaier,

Those ST wheels have got to be the ugliest IMHO! Wish there was an option for the chrome ones. I like the rubber floor and no pwr windows/locks.......

BTW- You work for Wal-Mart as a programmer?

Sure wish I could get on over there!
