Wheel Bearing Adjusting Nut.

Anybody off hand know what size socket fits the nut. I'm getting together a list of parts for the nearing repack and brake job. Only want to make one trip to the parts house.

Thanks in advance.

You usually don't need a socket, once you remove the cotter pin and pull the cover off of the nut it should be handy or atleast you could use a screwdriver to loosen it up. A good pair of ChannelLock pliers, to remove and install.

The socket size for the rear axle nut is 2 9/16. Got mine at Carquest.

Get the socket, it's expensive, but worth it. The lock nuts cost more, each than the socket. Mine are chewed up a bit too, from a hammer and screw driver.
