What's Wrong With Us?
I know alot of people "love" their trucks but I think us 12valvers have issues! I just got back from a trip to KY in which I left my 96 at home and I actually missed the thing. Maby I need professional help or is everyone else the same way? I am like a kid @ Christmas, I can't wait to wake up and drive around.

I'm the same way, I was recently away for ten days, when I got back I went for a drive. When the plane landed and by the time I got home I didn't even unpack, just went. 12 valves rule the world of diesel performance!!!

we just bought the wife a brand new Accord with 7yr/100k bumper to bumper warranty and roadside assistance. The thing is nice and quiet and gets 33mpg... Gas is about $2/gal.
We're at my grandparents' house about 10hrs away... diesel is about $2.50/gal, the truck has no warranty, gets maybe 18mpg on the highway if I can keep it around 80mph and don't pass like an animal... I said "if we take my truck, I'll pay for the whole trip" (I also used the "let's keep the miles off your car" line )

My wife has a Sunfire that we usually take when we're driving around town. It nevers fails. I end up saying, "**** honey, I should have brought the truck." Especially when I see a punk ricer or someone else in their truck hotrodding it.
I pulled away from a 5 litre Mustang from 60-100MPH the other day. I was grinning from ear to ear.

Yes me too!! I'm on vacation in the evergreen state, washington. I have missed my babies since I got here on 11/20. I cant wait to get home and fire em both up and listen to that wonderful rattle. Plus I'll be installing the 4" straight pipe then too and the gauges and doing some grinding if you know what I mean

I'm with you guys, we drove my truck instead of my wifes Jag to friends on thanksgiving. I know, the truck doesn't ride as good and is not as quiet, but it is way more fun, what with Quad race box and air horn, esp. for an Alabama redneck like me.

I left for Colorado about 2 weeks after I graduated High School last year. I was out there for 5 weeks, and didnt drive anything but stock Fords. When I got home, I never even made it into the house before I had my truck fired up and was going down the road. And that was after being up for a good 20 hours for the whole drive home. I felt like I was in heaven

these trucks grow on u, i know that i love hearing mine fire up in the morning and at school i even go to check on it to make sure its fine, seems to me its an equation
The more money and time u spend with ur truck = the more u love the darn thing...
Addings twins and other goodies just adds to the joy of the experience for me.. and towing is a whole other issue
Even driving around in other vehicles, u miss the low end TQ, i know i do, i find myself askin hey, wheres the tq? more often than not when im driving other vehicles

My wifes car is a Caddy Seville. It gets about 28 mpg on the highway, has a great Bose stereo, rides smooth and quiet. I hate it. You have to climb DOWN to the drivers seat, there is no exercise for the left leg when shifting and no comfortable place to put the right foot while on cruise control. The last trip to VA to visit her mom I put it on a trailer and towed it there .

It's good to hear I'm not alone. I have a '99 f150 4x4 with 60k on it, it's a great looking truck that runs and drives great, but it stays in the garage 99% of the time. I had rather put a new motor and tranny in my '96 every 15-20 years than buy a new truck.
With the new diesel regulations theese trucks will increase in value over the next 10 years too. As soon as I get my Gorend, I'm buying another 12v!
