I MEAN A 12 TON TRAILER! Sorry, I wasnt thinking when I wrote this.

Hi guys, I am looking at buying a trailer to work with. I am looking at buying a trailer heavy enough to haul anything I come across, from farm machinery to my families broken down vehicles to salvaged forklifts from work. I have found a great deal on a 1986 Eager Beaver 12 ton dual wheel trailer. My question to anyone who might know. Whats the wieght of this trailer. The trailer I am currently using is around 6500lbs. I think thats very heavy but its my dads and its getting worn out. I will be using my W350 to pull it. Let me know, thanks guys.

Is it a gooseneck or a pull type ? Your trailer gross weight is 24000lbs, trailer alone should be in the 8000lbs range. You have approx 16000lbs capacity. Check manufacturer web site, older trailer is not much heavier or lighter than new one, to be accurate weight your truck empty at a scale, then hook up the trailer and weight the whole rig, deduct your empty truck weight and voila' you have exact trailer specs.

Its a pintle type. I did go to EB's website and a new trailer the same size wieghs about 6450 lbs. I was just curious to see if anyone out there has the same trailer and new a more accurate weight? I would think new models are probably a little heavier. Like our trucks, my 92 doesnt way what a new truck wieghs. Thanks for the help.
