Whats up with the WIRE dipstick???

I checked my oil at the dealer yesterday before I drove it home and I was shocked to see this WIRE dipstick with the little white level indicator at the end!! I am so used to the Nice flat metal dipstick that you can read so much easier!!

Is that a replacement dipstick? Mine is the standard flat dipstick. Wonder if the dealer lost the original? Maybe a new type?

mine is flat also. you'll want to find out. there are different length dipsticks for different engine applications due to oil pan depth. hate for you to have too long of a dipstick, and be several quarts low.

Yep mystery solved. Looks like he has updated his sig now. So, in conclusion, 07's went to the wire dipstick; why I don't know.

Mine is an 06 and I have the wire. It may be a late 06 though as I bought it in August.
