What's the standard height for a gooseneck trailer coupler

I want to buy a gooseneck but I think my flatbed may be too tall. The gooseneck ball on my bed is 44" from the ground.

I don't know what the standard height for a gooseneck trailer coupler is, but I saw on a catalog from PJ Trailers that their height is adjustable from 32 13/16 to 40 13/16 inches. So this means that my truck's ball is about 3" taller than it needs to be, don't know if this will be a problem or not?

Does anybody else know if all goosenecks are adjustable, like these, or what the standard height is?

Most gooseneck hitches on trailers are adjustable. You can run it that high but the front end of the trailer will be a little high. Is you ball attached to the bed or the frame?

My ball is welded to the flatbed, which is bolted to the frame with a heavy steel plates, no wood. It's one of those flatbeds that has a compartment with a lid that opens up to reveal the ball inside. It was made to pull a gooseneck, so I'm sure it will hold. So at some point I'll switch back to stock tires, and that lower the truck a few inches.

Thanks for the info.

Older gooseneck trailers were lower than the newer trailers.....reason.....newer trucks are taller...so how it fits depends on the trailer year.
