Whats a good price for a 02 QC SB HO? And some other dealer???s
Just wondering is considered a reasonable or good price on a 02 Quad Cab Short Box 2500 with the HO, 6 speed, cloth interior.
I've found a bunch of them around here at two local Dodge dealers.
One is charcoal and has 41k on it. Good condition. They are asking $27,995, which I think is extremely high. And according to them, that is the sale price, as it was originally $29,995. Drove it and seems to run great and have no issues.
Another dealer has a red one with 34k on it in good condition. They want $26,900.
Both of these prices seem very high to me.
The local Chevy dealer has an 01 QC HO 6 speed SLT with 52k on it for for $21,900 and a 00 QC auto for $18,800.
Dodge diesels are a dime a dozen around here, but every dealer wants more then book for them.
I am stuck on a QC SB 4x4 with a manual. Which every dealer around has at least one on the lot, but they seem very high priced.
I look up book and the 02s retail for like $24k. Trade in is like 18-20k. IMO, a dealer doesn't deserve more then maybe $1000-$2000 profit, unless a lot of work is done.
Does $8k more then trade in sound ridiculous to you?
I'm thinking about offering these dealers a lot less money. Like I'm thinkin 22-23.5k. I have no trade in and feel thats all they are worth.
Anyone think they will budge this much?
I really like the 02, as the 53 block issue is not there, plus the 4wheel discs.
Thanks

I paid $21900 for my '01 eth with 48K on the odometer. I got a good deal cuz the online service guy f'ed up on the price, shoulda been 23,900/ I'd work with them no matter what truck you go with. See if you can get any extra's like a spray in bed liner or a discount on a after-market warrenty. If you haggle some, then more than likely you can get a good deal. Don't sell yourself short.
Good luck,
Hunter

Problem is that for the most part it's kind of rare for a good truck to hit the lots. Most I had seen traded in where I work had basically had the snot run out of them. I paid 26,200 for my 01 with 28K on it a little over a year ago and that was the best price they would give me (I work at the dealer). They would have put it on the lot for 29+. You said that CTD's are "a dime a dozen" but from the prices you've stated a good condition truck must still be bringing in some good money for the dealer to put a price like that on them. I know when it's time to sell my truck I'll be taking it up to my dads place in South Dakota. A used diesel that still had a tailgate that works, or is even on, is a rare find up in that area. Most get the "farm" treatment and they are in pretty rough condition.

I paid 28K for my 02 QC SB HO 6 shooter 4x4... I thought I got it for a steal with only 23k on the odometer... the truck was like new. I looked for a really long time before I found a truck I was completely satisfied with...

Dodge Diesels might be the most common truck around here. Everyone has one. That or a Powerjoke.
Cummins out number Dodge gassers around here.
Well, I'm going to go talk to these dealer next week and see what they have to say.
