What's a good brand remote start ?
I would like to add remote start to help warming up truck in wintertime.
What's a good brand ? Easy to install or shop only ?

I have the UNGO SR6000 made by Clarion. It's a little over kill, but the wife got it for me, so who am i to ...
features....
security system (alarm)
remote start - w/ wait to start
remote shut off
wait to shut off - can program to shut truck off after so many minutes
roll windows down in stages with remote - 1/4, 1/2, all the way down
windows auto roll up when alarm is set
Remotes can be used as garage door openers
remotes can be programed to be used on more then one vehicle
all of my windows are now "auto down" instead of just the drivers window

I've got the upper model code alarm, it works well and has plenty of range. It's the first install I wussed out on and took to a professional. It's doable by a normal person, but the pro installer had a much easier time. I paid $250 for the install, definately worth it to me.
Keep in mind that you will need a $100 chrysler Canbus adapter to interface with the door locks and ignition.

I'm using a viper 1 way. I had to take it back to the seller/installer 5 times to get it to work right. The turbo timer still doesn't work the way it's supposed to. I would not recommend it.

I had an AutoPage 2-way on my 1500 gasser... worked flawlessly for 3 years until I wrecked the truck.. I could start it from in my office or home and it would always tell me it started ok... or when the alarm was going off..
the downside is the vibration alarm was quite sensitive and cement trucks would set off all the time ... I tried to have them adjust it several times to no avail..

Pretty much all DEI products are good. Viper, Clifford, etc. I have Viper on my truck and my Jeep and never had a problem. If there is a problem it is usually an installer isssue.
