whats everyone running for 5" exhaust?
just curious what brands are the best and the most popular..
im in the market for a 5 inch turbo back system... i dont want any kind of muffler.... yeah i know all about highway drone, i had stacks on last cummins.
is the stainless steel worth the extra money?
i have a 2006 megacab 4x4 with a smarty PoD.... south bend dual disc goes in august 8th.... next is gauges, S&B intake and elbow but after the exhaust!
i bought a muffler delete pipe for stock exhaust and didnt notice much difference.
thanks guys

Just got done installing MBRP 5" with muffler. I like it. Was easy to install. I can tell you their muffler ain't much of a muffler but it takes a little of the cackle out of the exhaust. Fits really nice.

(other than more noise and a lighter wallet?)
Unless you're up to 700-800HP you don't need 5" exhaust.

I went with the Silverline 409SS. It's noisy loaded pulling at 2100 RPM's or so but it's working out very well. If they use salt on the roads then aluminized won't hold up as long.

5" works
I have a 06 2500 with A granitelli programmer a intercooler and airriad intake. I just got my tranny beefed up and with the extra hookup my EGT'S went up.
I had a 4" cat back system and just put a flo-pro 5" turbo back on and I saw a very good decrease in egt temp about 150 - 200 degrees. The system is a little tricky to install the directions and pictures are universal to all there dodge kits and they have made changes that are not reflected in the pics or instructions so it slowed my progress a couple times, also if you have a long bed you may have to do a little cutting to make the mid pipe the correct length but once your done I think you will be pleased. It is a little louder but not out of control you can here the turbo spin and I dig that sound. Even with the upgrades I have I still feel that it helped off the bottom some maybe the turbo is spooling up a little faster. Also I live in Vegas were you have to smog Diesels so I have to have a cat visible for smog inspection, I marked the cat cut it to slide over the 5" pipe knocked the ceramic out of it and welded it to the outside of the mid pipe just behind the cross member that runs under the tranny. what they dont know wont hurt them. Good luck
