Went to the dark side

Well I did what I didn't think I would do. Sold my 12 valver and bought an 05 duramax. I have plenty of mixed feeling about the old goat, but it was getting very tired and I am pretty impressed with the max. I may kick myself later I might have a few items to sell from my 2nd gen. that I never got around to installing. I need to go through the garage and sort stuff out.

I went from a 98-1/2 Cummins to an 03 Duramax about 6 months ago. I now split my time between here and dieselplace. I will not criticize the cummins but I am extremely happy with my Chevy. I wanted the extra room without going as new as a MegaCab and I switched to an auto. So far no regrets accept for missing the rattle. But it is much easier to carry on a conversation.

I'm tempted. Can you get a Duramax with a clutch?

You can't get a new DMax with a manual trans. I did fine 40 some trucks from 2004 and newer with 4 doors with a manual trans.

I will miss the cummins for sure and would have preferred a 6spd manual but driving in hilly Seattle the autos nice. I just hope the allison hold together better than the dodges.
I can't stand looking at that punny exhaust pipe. that will go first and then air filter.
