Weird tail light problem...

So, yesterday, I cruise into a gas station to get some fuel, and my lamp out light comes on... I look, right brake light is out. No big deal, while I'm fueling, I grab a spare that I had on me, and stick it in. It works.

About 5 minutes later, the light comes on again...

What is happening, is... with the headlights on, both brake lights are on, and both rear running lamps are on, without the brake pedal being pushed. (all rear red lights are on)

When the headlights are off, my right rear brake light does not work when the brake pedal is pushed, (but no lights are on in the rear at all.)

I know it's not the bulb, it works when the head lights are on.

???

So with the headlights even off, the left brake light doesn't work either? Sure sounds like a connection problem. They are kind of notorious for that. The printed circuit inside the little bulb housing fails. Try cleaning all the connections by unplugging and plugging them in a couple of times. If not.....look at your trailer wiring......may be corroded.

Hey, Andy, I was hoping you'd chime in...

I'm gonna shoot a vid in a few...

I'm gonna swap bulb holders and see if the problem moves. If it does, bad light fixture. If not... wiring.

Every Mopar I've ever owned had tail light problems. Even some of the ones I did not own...

Nah... I was wrong on my description up there... It is just one bulb that is out. The Bulb holder is melting one of the wires through on the base of the bulb... guess it's just time for a new doo dad... I'm gonna monkey with it some more, but something's jacked up. I am going to read my voltages, also. It has already melted a new bulb.

Well, I went out there and turned the bulb around and it works, but not for long, I don't think. There is the same burn mark on it as the other one did... I'm probably looking at a new bulb base.
