Weight on the front axle?

Has anyone ever weighed the front end of these trucks? I am looking to build a multipurpose truck tow dolly/miata hauler with dual drop axles and good brakes, but need to know how heavy the springs need to be to support the front end of the truck. The miata only weighs 2400 pounds (even with the LS1 in it), so I'm trying to strike a balance (Air bags will be added if needed). A total weight on these trucks would be nice also. Its a quad cab4x4 with a big front bumper, 19.5's, gooseneck hitch, and about 500 pounds of tools.

Cliff notes-
What does the front end of a 4x4 dodge cummins weigh?
Rough estimate on total weight?

My '01 weighs 7100 lbs with me at the wheel and full of fuel. Just a guess you would be at about 8000 lbs?

Posted too quick, I'm not sure about the front axle but I'm sure there is a few more lbs. there than we think. That engine alone weighs about 1000 lbs.

I'll have to steal the truck sometime and just pull the front end on the scales. I remember him saying total was around 8500 pounds, but I'm not sure how it'd be distribute front/rear.

You don't mention long or short bed....but my long bed is 4520 lbs on the front with me (250 lbs) and full fuel. Total wt - 7040 lbs.

65% of total weight is a safe ball park estimate for front end of any 4x4 CTD. 75% with a Ranch Hard on the front.
