??? Ways to keep the EGTs down ???

Question. What are some ways to get the EGT temps down? Other than: turning the fuel box down, less throttle, etc. I'm hitting 1250 degrees pretty quick and would like to stay under 1300 (that is 1300 being the max). Thoughts???

I took of the Scottie2 intake and put the stock one on to see the difference. Helps maybe 50 degrees pulling a trailer up hill. Exhaust...doesn't help much either, but good on cool down.

Stock injectors?

Might want to go a step up on the Exhaust housing on the turbo (14 or 16cm), more lag, better top end, lower peak EGT.

Or, even maybe a Hybrid 35/40. If you were to do a hybrid, I would also run some 80HP EDM injectors.

I noticed you had a TST box. DO you have anything for timing? or does your TST box have timing? If not, You should try running an EZ piggybacked with your TST, and this should help out temps.

Other than that, maybe a Cam, and head work.

Either way, without pulling fuel back, it'll take some money to decrease EGT.

Fuel Is Cheap, Air is Expensive.

Re:??? Ways to keep the EGTs down ???

I had a set of BD III injectors but took them off (a bit too much smoke...accused of doing burnouts), and sold them for what I had in them. Even with those, the EGT temps were high.

No timing box, just fuel on the TST Powermax 3. Would a timing box decrease EGTs?

So a bigger turbo housing would decrease EGT temps? Not worried about lag, just top end. How much decrease (temps) could be seen with a PDR40 turbo?

Thanks

Does your TST boost your MAP? What are your boost readings when you've got your foot in it a bit? With my EZ and Step 1 injectors, I can get up to 36 lbs of boost fairly quickly. I don't get much over 900 degrees (post turbo, that would be about 1200 degrees pre-) even when towing in the Smokies with an ambient temp in the 90's. I'm running a BHAF with stock exhaust.

Yes, from my understanding the TST boosts the MAP. Without a trailer, and on 9 (1 thru 9 settings) the boost will hit 41. With a trailer, and on 9 it'll hit 44. Around town driving I usually keep it on 6 and it usually hits around 36. But of course as soon as it hits these numbers the EGTs hit around 1250 to 1300 which starts the defueling (the TST powermax box has a defueling feature whereas it defuels until the temps get below a pre-set number...granted you can manually increase the preset 1200 temp).

Even on the dyno (just the TST box on 9, BD exhaust, and Scottie2) it hit around 40 and start defueling until the temp dropped to around 1100.
