water temp sensor
Ok, I searched but nothing jumped out at me. My temp gauge(water) seems to have quit working. It worked prior to losing a hose a few months back. Someone suggested an air pocket. I tired everything.
Is there a ay to test the sensor before I buy another? Is it possible to test the gauge?
thanks in advance

Many times when replacing the fuel hoses at the rear of the engine the connector to the water temp sensor gets unplugged.
Check it out at the top rear driver's side of the engine.

I checked it. I even removed it to buy another one. NAPA wanted $70 but a local independant factory trained cummins mechanic told me to only buy factory sensor. I dont want to buy a part if I dont need to

Air pocket would not prevent sensor from not working. To test gauge ground the sensor wire and if the gauge pegs to hot you have a open sensor. Replace the sensor.
