Water temp. Gauge

Anyone know the thread size on the Plug that is just past the thermostat?

I got a water temp. gauge, and it came with a 1/8 NPT sensor....and it's like half the size of the plug that is in the engine LOL....It appears to be the same thread size as the Factory In Dash water temp sensor spot that is on the back of the block on driver side.....However no parts houses list the specs on that sender.

Thanks
Brandon

Try a 1/2" x 1/8" NPT threaded bushing from your local hardware store. Getting a brass one could be a plus.

it's on my buddie's 90, his factory gauge doesn't work and he got the Glowshift 3 N 1 gauge like Joe's has......the only gauge in it not hooked up is the Water temp.

Now that I think about it, It would be better to put it in place of the Stock temp. sensor since thats in the water jacket, and it doesn't work anyways....

I stuck mine in behind the throttle linkage bracket. The plug is right up under the intake and you have to lie on your belly from the passenger side and look up underneath to see it. My Autotemp fit right into it.

You don't get to know my name tho' as I don't want to be the focal point of all the swearing once you try to install it there!! (not a fun time)

I only found it as I had the head off and went "Hmmmmm" where did you come from.

It's the perfect length for the wire to reach as well and looks nice and neat once installed.

Good luck.

The one by the t-stat is 1/2" NPT, the factory temp sender is 3/4"NPT.
