3rd gens seem to be having quite a few problems with water pumps. I traded my truck off today because my truck was eating water pumps and dealer says it's normal. From what I understand, it take less than 15 minutes to fix one and just about anybody can do it... I am not that inclined yet..LOLOO

For whatever reason of design, the water pump is supposedly OK and operating normally if it weeps a little. That statement is straight from a dealership/service department person AND out of the DC tech people.

Roperteacher had quite a lot of BAD experiences regarding his water pump(s) and so have others. It DOES take about 15 minutes to change out the water pump, but, they all will begin to weep again like the one you are changing out.

You must be able to DUPLICATE your problem at the dealership, AND you better have a pretty steady stream of leakage or all you will get told is that's a normal weepage.

Good luck.
