Water in Fuel Seperator

Is the lever suppose to be in or out? I'm trying to track down a fuel leak on my truck and the lever was out on mine. The manual says that "in" is closed. Could the dealer have left it open?

My "Closed" position is with the lever aimed at the Radiator. But if yours was left open I'd imagine it'd be a whole lot of fuel leaking, unless maybe it was just cracked open a hair?

You could have debris stuck in the valve but if the valve were open you would have a tank of fuel on the ground in no time.

Place a bucket under the drain and cycle the valve open and closed to flush any debris that may be in it.
