Wastegate

Hey Guys,
Is Banks the best place to get a new wastegate? I had a boost test done on my truck and they noted that the wastegate wasn't working properly, so I need to get a new one. Come on guys give me your opinions!!!!

TIA

Don't replace it just yet.
Most of the time the reason the wastegate isn't working is because the line going to it has fallen down too close to the manifold and melted shut, easy fix with new hose. Other times the wastegate is just carboned up and needs to be worked back and forth to break it loose.
Sometimes if a unknowing person tests the wastegate by using compressed air to move it they will blow out the diaphragm with too much pressure. Then you do have to replace it.

If the wastegate actuator is infact bad...you can purchase a Turbo Master actuator that is advertised on this site. I have one and it works perfectly. It would also be easy to rig up a simple adjusable spring to keep the wastegate closed untill the desired boost level is reached...thats all that the Turbo Master does. The spring on the Turbo Master is quite easy to compress by the way.
