Personally I chose to block my wastegate completely. Also in the past I have run a home made boost fooler on my 12 valve. Stole the block bolt from my friends 2001 when he upgraded turbos 2 months ago. I much prefer running the truck with no wastegate. Just my .02

Getting 14-15 mpg? Is it a 4x4? is this on the highway? Fill out your signature so we know the truck. Are you feeling the turbo up until you describe the problem? What I mean is when I was wastegated completely I always felt the lack of power due to the wastegate kicking in.

ya I have a cold air induction and it sounds like a jet taking off (which is not a bad thing) and I just give it a quick hit of the throttle and let off and it makes a fluttering sound..I always thought that it makes that noise when under extreme conditions..under a heavy load then letting off quickly

So your turbo is "barking" like it would if you are hauling on it, then let off quickly? How is the play in the bearings for the turbo?
