Warranty issues with Edge EZ?

Hello everyone, new member here, and i DID do a search prior to posting this, so dont flame me. My dad has an early 04 555 3500 and we are hoping to put and edge ez on the truck. However, he is just extremely leary because of the fact that he bought the extra 10 year bumper to bumper warranty, and doesnt want to void it, will the EZ leave any sort of trace on the computer that we have had it installed? We will remove it before any trips to the dealership.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Depends how hard they look. The EZ boost fools...so if the dealership really wanted to infer from unormally low boost numbers, they could "think" it was on there. The most obvious signs are the velcro on the fuse box. Some dealers are bomb friendly...

You NEVER use the velcro to mount the EZ unless you don't care about your warranty. Mine stays put just sitting on top of the fuse box and it pulls out in 2 minutes.
It depends on who you talk to as to whether it is traceable or not. I'm not sure.

It would be very tough to trace although the edge ez doesn't change ecu programming it just modify's it inline takes the signals from ecm and just changes them I think you will be alright as long as you remove it when he takes it in for service

There's a few guys from "over there" here. The only thing I'm leary of with a "boxed" common rail engine is that it seems that they go hand in hand with pressure limiting valve failure. I just replaced one on a 03 this week that ran an EZ. It's only the forth one I've replace and all have been modded (only one admitted it, the rest I had to pry the info out of them) . I have no proof that the aftermarket is increasing rail psi, but it just seems strange that I've only had to replace this item on modded trucks. The EZ and most of the banks, bully dog systems do utilize the rail pressure switch as a point of connection so I'm sure they are manipulating that info for their "performance" gains. I'm sure there are quite a few people here that have had no probs with their mods, just an observation from my end of the wrench.

nope, no doors lying around ... thanks for the info jbody ..
edit, and i hear alot abou the "common rail" engines, is it just that the new engines all have a common fuel rail, and the older models had seperate rails or what?

That's interesting J-Body. Yes, these boxes do raise the rail pressure but it is still supposed to be below the max for the fuel rail.... Just one more thing that may make me change back to setting 3 or 4...
