WARNING! All dodge 2500 Owners be advised:

3 weeks ago a rodent got into my wiring harness and caused a dead short in the electrical system. This short fried the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) and rendered the truck useless. I took the truck to the dealership (the only place that can flash the TIPM) and they have given me the runaround for the past 3 weeks (dealer name deleted); through my own research I have found out that Chrysler has dropped the supplier of TIPM modules and is "negotiating" some kind of deal with another supplier. In the meantime, there are NO TIPMS to be found anywhere for these trucks. I don't know which model years this affects, but mine is a 2004. There had to have been thousands of those trucks built that year, and without those TIPM modules they are essentially salvage items for parts and all of your remaining value as a vehicle is gone until Chrysler figures out what to do.

Needless to say, this is the last Chrysler or Dodge vehicle I will ever own. To interrupt the supply of such a critical part to any of the vehicles they manufacture that are less than ten years old is simply irresponsible and foolhardy, as most of these trucks have service lives in excess of 10 years or more.

Anyone who has any ideas or knows of someone who has these modules is welcome to chime in, I am about out of ideas......

have you called a salvage yard,, do you know if the TIPM is the same for all models, seems like a little over reaction.

Evidently you didn't read my post carefully enough - you cannot get one from a salvage yard because they are specifically programmed with the VIN number and mileage information from your vehicle; they are burned into memory one time only and cannot be altered......

I read your first post twice actually, you never mention the above.

Maybe you need to try a different dealer.

Or a different forum. We don't slander dealerships or give other members a needless sarcastic answer here.

To continue such actions after an administrator warns you of same usually results in a 30 day muting. If you're really persistent, banning isn't out of the question.

I know you are frustrated, (to put it mildly), and rightly so, but check the attitude at the door when responding to other members. Good information otherwise.

This one is done. Bad attitude by the OP, it can go nowhere.

Try again if you like, change your tone.
