Warm up time for 03 a lot longer then 01?
Kinda curious about this. My 01 Cummins would warm up after about 5 miles or so. Now I have an 03 and it seems like it is closer to 10 or 12 miles. I commute about 10-13 miles each way and seems weird that it takes that long to warm up. Temps have been 40-60 degrees here lately.
Tempted to run the Lund grille inserts to try to decrease warm up time. I'm going to have to buy the Mopar cold front for winter.
Possible sticky thermostat? Only 59,000 miles on the odometer.
I always start it up and let it warm up for 5-10 minutes. Same as with my old truck.

Hi Gleen,
My 04 takes 10 minutes or more to get up to operating temperature. If you are driving in town, put it in tow mode, this helps. Your truck is normal. Enjoy your ride.

Sounds about right... I doubt there is much difference in the cooling system from the 235hp cali model to the 305 to the 325... so You have a lot of cooling that isn't needed most the time.. but its really nice when towing hard, I have yet to see more than 202* on the digital readout, which is about 210* on the dash...
I know my truck takes much longer to warm up than my buddies 7.3 stroke...
Also I think that the thermostat may be staged, it seems to have to get to 200*+ then fully open and run about 190* around town or not towing.
