Want Lower EGT's

I am running an Adrenaline Quadzilla and towing 11,000 lbs. Everything else is stock, except for full gauges. I have been backing off the fuel at 1200 but an internet search suggested I could sustain 1250-1300 for long grades. Is this safe? Is there a simple way (I am leaving for Lake Powell tomorrow morning) to lower EGT's just a little? I know I need to get a bigger exhaust and possibly a turbo, but that's further down the pipe a bit. Any help would be appreciated............Ernie

You could turnbuckle your wastegate and that will bring the egt's down but you will have a lot of backpressure (9cm housing). This is most noticeable in my truck empty 80-90 mph. On the other hand around town it clears up smoke and lights instantly. You may just try it I bought a turnbuckle at lowes for 2.50 and a 7/16 wrench in the door and you could take it on and off. Tom

there is nothing wrong with holding 1200-1300 degress just make sure you give your rig some good quality cooldown time

And when holding those temps in the summer heat watch the coolant temp. Make sure your radiator core is clear and the level topped up.
