Wana Make 500 To 550 Hp (help!!!!)
So what parts needed to make this kind of reliable power and low egt"s,also with whats in my sig ,where do you guys think im at now?.pull sometimes 11,000 lbs thats my concern with egt"s (,im going to do a trany and torque convertor in a few weeks suncoast) empty should not be a problem im thinking.

a smarty sr and mp8 should just about do it, maybe a modded cp3 also. I did 455 with a smarty jr and diablosport powerpuck and even had the tq management on the wrong setting. Oh and i can't break 1200 deg egt wise no matter how hard i try.

I tow 18k behind me daily with my tnt on #1 (100hp) and egts keep under 1350-1400 which is what my truck ran stock. I tried three diff guages since stock and never could get my temps to stay under 1200, except that outlook monitor read a 100 or so lower. I am going to switch to a 64 for a little more up top but I think an auto tow rig is better off with a 62

500-550 is easy, just watch gauges while testing, a few runs and its easy to find the optimum settings
575-600 is tough, requires alot of work on a " stock " truck
alot of it is removing parasitic drag and losses....
how much hp do you think is lost to drive presure alone? i picked up 75 hp just by getting drive presure inline on the stock turbo. its amazing how a truck reacts when you get it from 3:1 down to almost 1:1...
remember hp is a function of torque vs rpm.
a small stock injector will maitain rail presure at higher rpms therefore makeing more hp up high , at the expence of a flatter torque curve.
on an 04.5- truck, you get some that stock run alot better than others, ive seen some that put " rated hp" down at the rear wheels...
remember also, auto trans waste hp, get a 6sp to eliminate losses...
theres more to it than that, but this might help some see where it comes from...
