Walbro kit, need info

Somebody please explain to me the need for the relay in the Walbro lift pump kit.

depends how you want to wire it... you can use a relay if you want to keep the stock circuit

Not sure about GDP's kit but I ran a relay because the Walbro can pull higher current than the stock fuel pump. Better to be safe than sorry.

I also put in my Walbro at about the same time as Trik and the reason I used a relay was because I was told that the stock pump was feed right from the ECM. I was worried that I would overload the circut. I just bought a painless wiring kit from Summit Racing.

As stated above, it's just for peace of mind. It would be simpler to wire it directly to the original wire and it might be fine to do it that way. But everyone seems to be playing it safe, including me.
