Walbro Fuel System.
I have talked to many members on here and have decided to get the Walbro system for my truck. I am going to get the competition with the big line kit. But my concerns are minimal but have some questions.. A guy in town showed me a page that he had that compared the two and it seems that the FASS was better built, lighter and stronger??? Can any one elaborate on this. I like the glacier kit because if it faily a simple 12v motor at napa will get you up and going again and it is deadly quiet but I have heard the new FASS is quiter too. I will see if Tim can e-mail the page he was showing me.
Also what kind of warranty comes with the Glacier's product?? I can't find anything on their page.

Who cares if there's a couple of ounces in weight diff, it should be mounted properly either way and weight shouldn't matter. The walbro pump is awesome, the GDP kit is awesome. The only issues I've heard of is leaks which are easily repaired. The new fass pumps are very quiet, but you can't replace a fass at your local Napa.

I chose the walbro system for my truck as well. My decision also included the fact that the FASS systems hang down below the frame. To me, it seemed as though they were sticking out, just asking to be clipped by something on a consttuction site, or a piece of debris on the highway. just my 0.02.

Glacier is a simple less parts to fail or mess with. Fass hangs to low and like said above if it fails have to wait a week to get a new one. Installed GDP 392 in my truck and love it so simple.

If it's mounted the right way you should be able to just barely see the very bottom of the filters but every truck is different. And yes, comparing the internals of the FASS to the Walbro the FASS is beyond overbuilt for strength and endurance.

I've owned both. I love my Glacier.
i don't see how the FASS is lighter......
the Glacier's Walbro pump is so quiet you don't notice it. The FASS i had was loud enough to make you go deaf. You would hear it while cruising at 70 down the highway with the radio on. I understand they have taken measures to fix this recently....but still....for the love of....ill move on.
When i would go below half a tank with the FASS, it would start whining horribly. Even died one day at a 1/4 of a tank...too much air. My glacier uses the same in-tank fuel pick up and will only start to have an issue below 1/4 tank. what i mean by "issue" is the fuel pressure gauge becomes unsteady from air in the system.
Following the instructions word for word, the FASS always threw the fuel pump code. Yes, theres a way around that but it was not stated in the original instructions.
The ease of adjustability of the Glacier is hard to beat.....in 5 minutes i can go from 20psi at idle to 40+psi.
can anyone else tell that i am waaay more satisfied with my glacier?
richard is behind his product 100% and has great customer service if the need should arise.

Both are a viable solution...but if you compare apples to apples...
The Walbro is:
Quieter
Cheaper
Reliable (as or more)
Smaller
Effective (I can't drag mine down more than 2 psi...and that has been the best performance of any of the three set ups I have tried).
Go GDP with a 2 micron filter head!
Shane...I would be happy to help you with the install...or give you a couple tips over the phone that will save you time.
