VP44 as a mechanical pump

Can the VP44 pump be used as a mechanical pump? Does it have an advance mechanism like the VE?

Anything is possible, but I don't think it is practical to try and convert the VP44 to mechanical. If you were going to go that route I'd try and find a higher flow pump from Stanadyne or Lucas with the correct mounting arrangement for the Dodge B. Cummins used Stanadyne and Lucas quite a bit in non automotive applications.
