vp44 dieing?

What are symptoms of the vp44 dieing, and symptoms of the lift pump dieing

Check lift pump pressure. If less than 5 is bad. Good would be 10 under some load. If lift pump good, check for codes. 2000 and up do three key cycles and read in odometer. If earlier get read by Advance Auto or someone for free. Code P0216 is death code. If still stalling, low power, surging, smoking and then quiting, is still probablly a VP44. Good luck.
