After much deliberation i am going to hook up my fuel gauge to the test port on my vp 44. Problem is i can’t seem to find it. So could you all point me in the right direction as to where exactly it is on the pump.

look on the injection pump where the fuel line goes in the pump. there should be a red or black cap on the banjo bolt that you have to take off before you screw on the gauge.

Thanks for the info. I figured that's where it was but wasn’t quit sure. When i removed the cap and started the truck, fuel did not flow out so is there a special fitting I need to buy?

You have a schrader valve on there..

Make sure you hook it up to the correct valve. Someone will chime in, but I think its the one on the side.

You can use the schrader valve that the factory used to use for testing or install different banjos that has a port to connect your fuel pressure gauge to. If you go this route, alot of folks install the banjo on the filtered side of the fuel filter (on your, this is the bottom banjo).

If you are installing a new banjo, might as well install some monster size banjos to help the fuel pressure!!!

Thanks for all your help. Just finished installing the gauge and thankfully I won’t be needing to replace the lift pump. 9 pounds pressure when pulling a somewhat heavy load down the highway.

thats borderline. keep a eye on your psi!
