were is it at on a 95 1 ton dually. for a friend of mine he just called and asked so i figured i would ask the experts.

NO voltage regulator

voltage regulation is controlled by the PCM on the 94-98 12 valve trucks.. An external can be added if the voltage regulation function fails on his truck tho...

If your freind is not a do it yourselfer , he may want to stick to stock , so that its not a one of a kind , so that if it goes to a shop to get worked on they no whats what ,
Anything can happen ,but the PCM is about one of the least failing parts on the truck [ go figure ]
More offen than not its the wiring , connections , or sensors that tell the PCM to charge [ now this could be a reason to externalize the reg. , just a reg. insted of what yr. what mdl. and worst of all what sensor -crank , TPS ect ]
I'm going to have to add this to my sig. - test , then replace , not replace and then test .
