Vibration noise and almost bearing sound

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a 5.9 and about 76000 miles. I don't do alot of off roading but i wanted to put a lift in it for years. I just put a Skyjacker 5" lift kit in it and now there is a noise that sounds like it is coming from the front drivetrain area that starts around 43 MPH and does not go away unless you slow down below 43. It almost sounds like a bearing noise or a humm or maybe even a vibration. All of that was not in there before the lift kit. I took it to the shop today and the guy there said he thinks its a pinon bearing that is bad. He said it shouldn't take more than $350 to fix it. I was thinking more along the lines of the new angle of the driveshaft. But why did i not hear that sound before the lift kit and how does a bearing just all of a sudden go bad. I also put in new brake pads on all 4 tires. Anyone got any ideas?

You lifted it and it changed the angle of the D-shaft. You need to reset the pinion angle.

Have you tried driving with the drive shaft removed (Front or Rear)? If so, does it go away?

From your description it sounds like a center bearing or U-joint, but you say it is coming from the front. If you reused your old front drive-shaft then the bearings could now have gone bad due to the increase angle. So, I would check your u-joints and drive-shaft angles. Your installer should have made sure the Pinion Input and Transmission Output angles would be in sync. If not, then I would call his bluff to pay for a repair and make them do it. To check the differential pinion bearings for wear you could check the ring gear back lash. (.008-.012ish?) Its been a while since I have done a gear lash.

How do you reset the angle of the pinion? I was the one who put in the lift kit and it does not call for changing any angles because it was only 5 inches. The guys at the off road shop said in the Dodge trucks, if you put in 8 inches or more you have to put in a spacer between the transmission and the transfer case that rotates the T Case just enough to set the angle of the drive shafts back to an acceptable amount. The carrier bearing was worn on the resr driveshaft but that was replaced yesterday. The noise does seem to be coming from the front drivetrain area. I will try removing the front drive shaft and see if that helps but other that that, i just don't see how the bearing just went overnight. It was fine with no noise before i lifted it and now the first time i drove it with the kit the noise is there. Any other ideas guys?? Thanks!
