Vibration at 65-70mph
2004.5 Ram 2500 quad cab short bed 4x4 auto. I have a vibration at 65-70. It is just enough to make the truck uncomfortable to drive. It's not always consistent. You can feel the vibration through the seats and see it in the rear view mirror. It has done this with 2 different sets of tires, one highway tread 265's and all terrain 285's. Could it be U-joints?

Take it to a driveline place. My U joints felt tight but I got a healthy annoying vibration at 55 or so when on the throttle as soon as I let off...glass smooth. Cause was the rear U-joint...driveline guy said I was lucky to have made it back to town

Front drive line spinning slowly at highway speeds. The vibration is more than likely from that. Thousands of complaints of vibration on these trucks between 65 & 75mph. Mine did it too. Dealer will tell you its normal.

Umm. Front Drive line is spinning. VERY common problem. And yes, you notice it under throttle. Ask your dealer. His response will be 10 phone calls a week on this. Its normal.

Not that I know of besides taking it off for the summer. There have litterally been thousands of complaints about this. Your dealer will say its normal. I wish that it wasn't. lol I have spoke with a lot of guys were denied the fact that it was the front d. line. They removed theirs and vibration went away. Try it out.

I hear ya. I'm not tring to sound like them either. Its like Chrylser doesnt drive thier finished products. If they did, they would know that 8 out of 10 people with these trucks have this vibration. It drives me crazy. I take mine off.

I had that same vibration. I let it get bad enough that I had to find it and removed the front driveshaft to get home. Dealer price was cheaper than having a driveline shop work on it. I bought the whole shaft and the problem never came back. The driveline shop told me the front u-joints are the same as they use on a Ford Ranger! I have a 2003 2500 4X4.
