Van Aaken C5 on stock 06?

Is the new C5 a good box for a stock auto trans truck? What kind of power does it produce on a stock truck? I have searched and can find very little info on this new box.

Thanks

Do a search. There is a thread from a while back when some guys were doing beta testing. From what I remember, it was pretty impressive.

Here's a thread, might be THE thread you're talking about.Click on the link at http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/ge...63-new-c5.html it's got some dynos (at post #5). Most of the dyno's are 2 and 3 hundred hp increases, with the c5 the only difference, and there is no stacking.
Once the software is out, it won't be a 'one size fits all' situation anymore. You'll be able to do your own tunes, from what I understand.

Sounds like it's time for another club!

...the "DTR Poor Suckers with '06.5+ Trucks" club.

It's for the 03-06. It's not for a stock truck. You'll need probably $15k in mods to support it plus the cost of the C5 + labor on everything you'd need,... forget about it,... not for most folks.

Doesn't EDGE have a Juice for your truck?

That's not true. The C5 has settings for 30,60,90,120,150 H.P. and then with tuning I have seen up to 230 H.P. on my truck. It's good from stock to highly modified.

Last edited by Green04HO; 09-09-2007 at 04:40 PM. Reason: forgot 120 H.P. on 5 position switch

Have it your way,..

But NO ONE can run around on the 30 and 60 hp settings. He'll be buying a turbo,.. tranny,.. etc etc etc.

I agree but that goes for any module he would purchase. That would also go for the Juice that you asked about.... I just thought it was unfair to say the C5 was no good for a stock truck. You just have to show some restraint and run the lower settings without the mods to run the higher settings.
I feel the C5 would be a good module to buy for the first time buyer because it's one that you can grow into. When the bombing bug hits hard you can purchase the tuning software and up the H.P. even more.

I agree. The C5 will work well on a stock truck. I have had mine on for a couple weeks now and its great for just running around. Hope the tuning software comes out soon.
