Valvoline Synthetic ATF +4

Has anyone tried the new Valvoline ATF +4? I just picked up a case of it for $3.49 a quart.

Be aware that it is Valvoline recommended, not DC approved.

Hey, Valvoline makes a good product. Who cares if its "DC Approved." Exactly why is it that "DC" is the only American manufacturer that has to have its own special tranny fluid, yet they have the most problems? Go with the Valvoline--- DC will never know the difference....Fo Shizzle

Why not just use Dextron III, it is in 80% of the vehicles on the road, so it must be good enough too.

The best transmission shop around here puts Dexron III in everything he builds. He puts a bottle of Lubeguard (black bottle) in the Chryslers and gives a 15,000 mile warranty. He said he hasnt had one come back as fault of fluid.

Is it labeled ATF+4 on the front of the bottle? If it is, maybe Valvoline is licensed to produce ATF+4 now. I couldn't find it on their website but sometimes the webmaster she is asleep at the wheel. If it is truly ATF+4, finally our wishes have come true and we don't have to beg at the dealership anymore. I remember when ATF+3 came out and we waited as the grey hairs populated our heads and then finally ATF+3 showed up on the shelves.

Yes, it is labeled ATF +4. It just came out and it is not on there website yet. I just bought a case of it, but I may look into the coffee mixture thing, that sounds cheaper.

Do a 4x4 launch and run it hard for about 30 seconds, jump out and get a swig of sweet sweet transmission Foldgers.

I bought the Vavoline ATF+4 at the local NAPA for less than 7 dollars for 2 quarts. Topped off my transmission after I installed the trans line with temp port. I only needed about 1\2 qt so I have extra on hand.
