Where can i get valve springs for 3 gen and how much should i expect to pay for these. I have the bddl crazy larry 2.4.1 and want to venture further than 3700 rpms. Also is this something i would have to pay somebody to put in or should i attempt it.

I've turned 3930 with stock springs.. This was on my 06. Also, I know someone here that just ran 11.1 in a lifted megacab (8400 pounds) with stock springs and cam.. He quit using the aftermarket cam and springs in favor of replacing them with the original cam and springs. On the dyno, he made more power with the stock head, springs, and cam than with all the expensive stuff.. There's a lot of mixed opinions out there..

i'm not so worried about the power, just worried about potential damage to the pistons while running past 3700 rmps @ high boost levels.

It is very safe to assume that "all the expensive stuff" that was used then was screwed up if it made less power than the stock stuff. If the combo is right, there is NO way stock stuff makes more power than a ported head and a cam install(if he is needing the ported head and cam that is). Very simple, you port a head (if done correctly of course) it improves airflow, as well as allows more air to enter the motor, and hence, more power. Same goes for a cam (if ground correctly). More valve lift/duration allows for more air to enter the motor, and hence more power. This is the simplest of terms of how to explain it, and nothing but the truth.

Wickeds truck also made less power with the zz fabrication intake installed on his head. I could have sworn he said he was still running springs with stock head otherwise and stock cam. He has since made in the 1100hp range.

It does not matter what is what, as it is an equation of physics. If you take "x" part and makes "x" power and then you change it for "y" part, if "y" allows air flow to improve (volume or velocity) it will make more power, period. You can not change physics. In the case of the "zz intake" (or "all that expensive stuff") all I can say is it hurt volume or velocity or both over the stock piece. So, the "zz intake" (or "all that expensive stuff") was not developed/manufactured/designed/installed (choose which) correctly.
