valve cover gaskets, grey or black?

valve cover gaskets, grey or black?

i thought that the gray from cummins were the ones we were supposed to used... then i looked at the link for valve adjust in the sticky and it says to use the black ones.... what do i need to use?

the only thing bad with the gray ones is when reusing them they can be a pita to get back on but if you put them in the freezer for a little while it makes it much easier to do

My experience has been a MUCH shorter life expectancy. They seem to get hard within a year or so and leak.

I agree the last black ones I hate got so hard they literally cracked I could snap them
