Valve Body

I need advice for my 2006 Dodge CTD Dually... I am active duty Air Force and while I was moving across country to a new base a few months ago, I
started to have serious Trans issues. We were living in and pulling our 5th wheel and started getting delayed shifting and shuddering right before
it would shift/downshift. We had to stop in San Antonio, TX and have the trans rebuilt.
I had a shop called Gerald Kosub transmission INC do the rebuild and they were great and jumped right on it. I asked that they do whatever there is to do to make it last and work well with a 5th wheel.
I got a triple disk billet TC, Billet input shaft, deeper alum pan and a number of better parts related to the rebuild. They also used a Transgo shift kit.
When I got to Redstone Arsenal, AL the truck started to shuttle shift and the local dealer said it was the Valve Body, which they changed under warranty.
The shuttle shift seems to be gone but now I have a stock Valve Body. I don't think this is the best situation for me. My 5th wheel is up to 18k when loaded and I don't want it to fail again, especially when I have less than 40k miles on the truck.
Do I need a valve body (Goerend, ATS DTT, etc.)?
Any Advice? TIA

there is issues with some govenor sensors on all of these trucks it was probably not the valve body but a 50 dollar sensor that needs to be replaced! so i would swap the old one back in. i would definitly not run the stock valve body with a built trans not enough pressure

AEmedic I'm sorry to hear you still had some possibly unrelated issues with the tranny after having it rebuilt from Gerald Kosub. I'm one of the ones that recommended that shop to you and it really sounds like they took care of you.

My truck is 100% stock still and I know what you're talking about on the shuttle shift from 1st-2nd. Since you got a Transgo shift kit I'm pretty sure that included a new valve body, which everyone here backs up as being a good one. Your shuttle shift must of been due to the parts 1985cucv mentioned. Which the dealer probably replaced as part of the new valve body. You need to find out what the dealer really replaced... They might of just replaced those 2 sensors and told you it was a valve body repair as that's what most customers understand best. If that's what they did then you should still have the Transgo valve body in there and you should be good to go. I hope this is the case for you and they didn't send your Transgo back as part of the core for your "new" stock valve body.

Find out more detail on what they did do and what they put in and give Gerald Kosub a call again and ask them what you should do. Give them a chance... remind them you are active duty and they really helped you out on your rebuild while you were down in SA.

On the invoice it shows that they checked the Gov/Press solenoid and determined the fault was with the valve body. It shows that I was invoiced for a Valve Body Replacement, which they promptly sent back for warranty credit.
I did call Gerald and he is goin to work to help me in the process (credit me back for the failure) and I am going to order a Goerend VB, I just need to find someone I can trust here in Alabama.

BTW Gerald Kosub Trans is the place to go if you are in TX! They will stand behind all their work.
